Tax Deadline Extended
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that is affecting our nation, the IRS has extended the 2019 federal income tax deadline to July 15, 2020. According to the IRS, "this relief applies to all individual returns, trusts, and corporations...[and is] automatic - taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify." First quarter estimated tax payments for the 2020 fiscal year are also included in this tax relief, with the same deadline of July 15, 2020.
Please note that this extension applies only to federal income tax, not state. While most states have also extended their tax deadlines, it is important to check directly with your state department.
